The last days of autumn should be full of rain in the southern region of Brazil, mainly in Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina.
According to Climatempo, the formation of a low pressure area close to the coast of Rio Grande do Sul, this Sunday, should help maintain instability in the region. The return of rains has an effect on the recovery of the State, which in May was affected by storms that flooded and devastated several cities, including the capital Porto Alegre.
The prospect is that today there will be an increase in the intensity of rainfall, mainly in the metropolitan region, in the Valleys and in the North and Northeast of the State, with accumulations of between 70 and 120 millimeters (mm). For the most central areas, the forecast is that volumes will be between 30 and 50 millimeters.
In the coming days, the rains should also advance over Santa Catarina, and the largest accumulated volume should occur in the west of Santa Catarina, where there is a risk of storms. In Florianópolis and the northeast of the state, there is no expectation of rain.
The condition of intense rains in the region has affected the economy in several areas, mainly in food production, since the region is an important producer of meat and grains, such as rice.
