The courts of first instance in Dubai Courts completed 36,468 lawsuits and more than 872,000 smart requests during the past year, according to the annual report issued under the title: Global Leadership and Innovative and Sustainable Judicial and Digital Solutions.
Director of Dubai Courts, Dr. Ghanem Al Suwaidi, said that the past year witnessed remarkable progress in various fields, including increasing efficiency in managing judicial files, improving the quality of services provided by the courts, and developing the digital infrastructure to facilitate and accelerate justice processes.
The indicators of the Dubai Courts’ annual report in 2023 revealed a significant increase in the use of smart requests in dealing with various cases, as the department received 872,414 smart requests last year in all courts of first instance, appeal and cassation.
The report stated that all Dubai courts showed outstanding performance in dealing with smart requests, such as the Court of Appeal, which successfully completed 32,005 smart requests, out of a total of 34,627 smart requests, while it rejected 2,621 requests. The Enforcement Court completed 654,997 smart requests and rejected 53,759 others. The Commercial Court of First Instance completed 51,132 requests and rejected 2,010 requests.
Al Suwaidi stressed that the index reflects the ability of courts to facilitate operations and improve the efficiency of judicial work, as a result of the increased demand for smart requests, thanks to the strong digital environment that provides faster and more effective digital services with customers, which contributes to achieving public happiness.
The indicators of the Dubai Courts’ annual report revealed that they achieved distinguished results in a number of other indicators, as they achieved 97% in the customer happiness index, 98% in the partners’ happiness index, and 99% in the suppliers’ happiness index. Dubai Courts also achieved 100% in the field of sustainability and working without… Paper, which contributed to reducing carbon emissions by about 373 tons.
The indicators showed a tangible development in the customer happiness index according to another measure, which is the Dubai Government questionnaire, as the questionnaire recorded 73% in 2021, and rose to 82% in 2022, and continued to rise remarkably over the past year to reach 92.1%, which reflects the quality of services, and achieving Satisfactory results for all clients have strengthened the community’s confidence in the justice system and the judicial services provided.
The report revealed that there are other goals that Dubai Courts were keen to achieve during the past year, including sustainable development, which the United Nations has placed among its priorities, so it took several initiatives to implement them on the ground, including participation in reducing the negative environmental impact, through the construction of environmentally friendly buildings, And adherence to this path in purchasing, contracting and use of relevant materials.
He explained that Dubai Courts achieved positive indicators regarding the environmental impact, and positive results related to the strategic indicators related to the extraction of paper and inks, in line with government directions.
The report continued that the department implemented sustainability conditions by planting gardens and natural lighting in its new buildings, in addition to using devices approved by the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology. It also worked to reduce electricity consumption through the use of solar energy, reduce carbon emissions, and adhere to building standards.
