Veteran English star Harry Kane revealed that Thomas Muller, his teammate in the Bayern Munich team, left him a message wishing him success before the European Nations Cup (Euro 2024), which begins in Germany tomorrow, Friday. Kane revealed the content of Muller’s letter, in which he warned him about the weather in Germany, noting at the same time that the German fans now “admire him” and the England team.
The England national team continues its preparations for its opening match in the third group of the group stage in the continental competition against the Serbian national team in the city of Gelsenkirchen next Sunday at its training camp in the city of Blankenhain, while staying in the same hotel where its German counterpart stayed two weeks ago.
Kane returns to Germany after spending his first season at Bayern Munich, which he joined from Tottenham Hotspur last summer. Although Kane, 30, did not win any title with Bayern last season, he scored 44 goals in 45 matches he played with his club in all competitions.
Kane explained that Muller, his teammate in the Bavarian team, left him a personal message upon leaving the hotel, as the England team seeks to win the title for the first time in its history, after advancing to the final match in the last edition of the tournament (Euro 2020).
“Tommy left me a little message, because they were only here two weeks ago,” Ken said. He added, “He told me that the golf course was great, but the weather was not good.” “Things are looking good, the hotel is amazing, and being in Germany is like another home.”
Keane believes that his arrival in Bavaria also led to an increase in some Germans’ fondness for coach Gareth Southgate’s team, as he said: “The reception I received since I was at Bayern was incredible, and since I was at the hotel, some of the employees came and made sure to greet me.” He explained: “I’m not saying they want England to win, but I think they like us and that’s great.”
Kane is considered the all-time leading scorer for the England national team, having scored 63 goals in 91 matches with the Three Lions. Kane is preparing to break another record when he leads the England national team at the Veltins Arena next Sunday, becoming the first player to captain the team in 4 major tournaments.
“Being captain of the England national team and leading the players is probably the highest recognition I can get as a player and I will never take that for granted,” Kane explained. “This feeling is truly unique,” he continued. “It is a great honor to do this for the fourth time. We went through the semi-finals and final together, as well as the quarter-finals, so I hope that we will reach the end and continue to achieve victories.”
