The Kremlin ruled out the need for a new mobilization in Russia
Kremlin official Dmitry Peskov answered a question about mobilization in the country.
Peskov commented RIA News publication of the British newspaper The Financial Times that by the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025 Russia will again announce mobilization. He recalled that Putin had repeatedly said that there was no need for this decision.
It is unlikely that the FT understands the real picture, one can only say – you know that we are very actively recruiting contract volunteer volunteers, it is happening on a daily basis
In Ukraine, rumors were spread about imminent mobilization in Russia
The head of the regional military administration of the Zaporozhye region, Ivan Fedorov, said that Russia is preparing the first mobilization in the Zaporozhye region. He assured that the entire infrastructure had been prepared for this: military registration and enlistment offices, recruiting stations and recruiting desks at every enterprise. “The official draft plan is more than 150 thousand people. At risk are men from 18 to 30 years old,” said Fedorov, whose words were not confirmed.
In addition, its publication contradicts the statement of the Governor of the Zaporozhye region, Evgeniy Balitsky, made back in 2022. Then he saidthat for five years residents of the region will not be subject to mobilization due to emergency circumstances.

Reports that Russia is preparing mobilization in the Zaporozhye region did not spread in the Russian media; only Ukrainian media wrote about it.
Also on the personal pages of users and in online communities on social networks, on May 15, messages began to spread that Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov had signed a decree on a new wave of mobilization and that military registration and enlistment offices in the country were working around the clock. This information did not find any real confirmation and turned out to be fake.
Putin has repeatedly stated that there is no need for mobilization in the country
Partial mobilization in Russia ended in October 2022. Sergei Shoigu, who at that time served as Minister of Defense, reported to President Vladimir Putin about its completion. Later, the head of state said that there would be no second wave of mobilization in the country, since this was not necessary. Putin’s words have been repeatedly confirmed by the government.

Thus, shortly after the 2024 presidential elections, the first deputy chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security, Viktor Bondarev, also denied information about a new mobilization in Russia. He noted that the country is making do with the available combat resources.
A new wave of mobilization is not planned in Russia. Our guys are well prepared
Peskov suggested that the increase in the number of people wishing to sign a contract to serve in the Russian Armed Forces indicates the mobilization of society around Putin.
In March, the Ministry of Defense announced that since the beginning of 2024, more than 100 thousand people have entered contract service.
