Ecuador updated a ministerial agreement to expedite the entry of international tourists through the country’s northern and southern land borders, reported this Friday, May 23, the Minister of Tourism, Niels Olsen.
Today all international tourists can enter through the northern and southern land borders.
Olsen assured that, with this, “all tourists who want to visit Ecuador through our land borders will be able to do so without absolutely any problem”.

“Security measures are necessarybut not allowing international tourists to enter Ecuador through the borders has greatly reduced our occupancy these 5 months,” says the Internet user who asks Olsen to help manage the matter with the Ministry of Government.
The declaration came at a time of a growing wave of violence that included the assault by hooded armed men on a television channel, which was broadcasting live, the explosion of cars and riots in prisons with the taking of hostages.
