A family was on vacation on a California beach when the children mistakenly collected clams thinking they were sea shells and received a fine of thousands of dollars.
The events occurred recently in Pismo Beach, dubbed the clam capital of the worldwhere Charlotte Russ’s children, according to information released by the New York Post, They collected 72 clams during a walk quiet on the sand.
The authorities from the Department of Fish and Wildlife realized what was happening and immediately went to the mother of the five minors to inform her of the situation. What happened is that the children were harvesting the clams without a license, which resulted in a fine that impacted the economy of women.
According to the aforementioned media, a few hours after the officers left, the woman received an email in which she was ordered to pay a fine in the amount of US$88,993. Finally, a San Luis Obispo County Judge reduced the amount to US$500.
