On Sunday night, the 19th, a 16-year-old teenager called the police stating that he had killed his family inside the house where the family lived, located in Vila Jaguara, west of São Paulo. The motivation, according to the offender, would be because his parents confiscated his cell phone.
According to the police report, he stated that he already had problems with his parents and that he had previously planned to kill them.
How did the crime happen?
According to what was reported in the case report, the young man took his father’s gun, a municipal civil guard, which was hidden and tested a shot on his parents’ mattress last Friday. He reports that he waited for his father to return from the school where his sister studied and, at around 1 pm, in the kitchen of the house, he shot his father in the back of the head with a 9 mm pistol, while he was on his back.
The offender’s sister heard the sound of the shot and asked what it was about. Then, the young man fired another shot, which hit the girl in the face. He claims that he “had to kill her” as she was at the scene of the crime (the family home).
On the same date, around 7 pm, the young man’s mother arrived at the residence. He welcomed her, opening the garage door for her to enter, accompanying her to the kitchen, and then fired a shot with the pistol, which he had kept on the sofa, killing the 50-year-old woman.
The next day, he stated that he took a knife from the kitchen and stabbed his mother in the back, as he was still angry with her. During the three days he stayed at home with the bodies, he says he went to the gym and the bakery.
On Sunday night, the teenager himself called the police to report what had happened.
What was the crime scene when the police arrived at the house?
The police arrived at the scene and verified that the weapon used for the murders was under the table in the room, with the bolt open, properly loaded and with an intact cartridge. On the upper floor, on the floor, there was the sister’s body and a detonated firearm capsule.
What statement did the young man make in his testimony?
According to the police report, he states that he did not regret the murders and that, “if he could, he would do it again”.
Does the teenager have a history of violence? Was there influence from third parties?
There are no police records of violence committed by the boy, but the investigation into the case says it will investigate the young man’s behavior in his living environment. The teenager did not report having been influenced by other people.
Was the offender apprehended?
The teenager was taken to Fundação Casa. If the police do not find family members willing to hire a defense for the offender, he will be represented by the Public Defender’s Office in a trial before the Children and Youth Court. Because he is a minor, the boy must be accused of an infraction similar to the crime.
