“The Dominican Republic has changed and has changed forever,” proclaimed the re-elected president Luis Abinader this Sunday night.
The candidate of the Modern Revolutionary Party will renew his mandate as head of the Dominican State, for the second and only time, until 2028.
In his speech after confirming his overwhelming victory in the presidential elections, Abinader He stated that the Dominican people “want to continue deepening the change” and stressed that he assumes the trust placed and will not fail the citizens of his country.
This Sunday, just over 8.1 million Dominicans were called to the polls to elect president, vice president and members of the National Congress (bicameral), as well as representatives of the Central American Parliament (Parlacen).
