The investigation has revealed that the fire probably started from “fireworks” carried out in the building. The rescue service was told earlier that paint removal had been done in the property with a hot air blower.
Facade renovation was underway in the building.
You can be convicted of negligence for public danger if, for example, you start a fire through negligence, which is apt to cause a general danger to life or health. The punishment range is from fines to a maximum of one year in prison.
The police according to the investigation, the responsibility issues related to the service and maintenance work carried out at the site will also be investigated.
The wooden house property located at Puutarhakatu 25 caught fire on Monday morning at half past eleven.
The fire damaged four apartments as well as the attic spaces and roof structures of the two-story wooden house property. In addition, several other apartments suffered from smoke damage.
