The annual report issued by the Food Industries Export Council showed that exports to Arab countries topped the list of the most important international groups importing Egyptian manufactured foods during the year 2023, with a value of $2.7 billion, representing 54 percent of total food exports, achieving a growth rate in value of 17 percent, followed by the European Union. With a value of $884 million, a growth rate of 15 percent and representing 17 percent of total exports, non-Arab African countries with a value of $467 million, representing 9 percent of total exports and achieving a growth rate in the value of exports amounting to 22 percent, the United States of America, with a value of $233 million, representing 4 percent. Of the total exports, achieving a decline rate of 5 percent, the remaining international groups amounted to $745 million, which represents 15 percent of total Egyptian food exports during the same period, achieving a growth rate of 14 percent, according to the Middle East News Agency.
The Council attributed the positive values in exports to the efforts of Egyptian companies producing and exporting processed foods and their commitment to the highest international standards that allowed them to penetrate various world markets, as well as the result of the promotional and marketing efforts led by the Export Council for Food Industries during the previous period, with the cooperation and support of the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the bodies related to the system.
