With the acronym GXTTrust indicates its products designed specifically for gaming.
This is a very rich line that includes gamepad obviously, but also gaming chairsheadphones and of course speakers.
The product I will talk to you about today belongs to this category, namely the speakers 612 Cetic which constitute the entry level proposal of Trustwith a price that, net of some fluctuations, is around €40-45.
Unboxing of the Trust GXT 612
The packaging in which the speakers are contained is quite standard, with a photo of the product and the salient features shown on one side. Once we open the box we only find the speakers and the manual, with light packaging since there isn’t actually much to break.
As already mentioned, it is a Entry level product with few frills which however can count on good underlying construction quality.
The speakers have the classic slightly oblique parallelepiped shape, to guarantee better sound diffusion; the all-plastic chassis is made with 76% recycled polymersgood news considering the current sensitivity towards environmental sustainability.
Without any particular controls, one of the two speakers (the right one) has one on the front knob which must be used to turn on the speakers, to adjust the volume and switch the connection from wired to wireless via Bluetooth.
Always above this case, a touch button allows us to turn on and manage the lighting RGB present at the base.
As for connection possibilities, we have three options: go Bluetoothas mentioned, through 3.5mm audio jack and finally through USB port.
Faced with an overall complete connectivity, it must be said that something is still missing from the speakers: despite their compact dimensions and low weight (about 20×10 cm for a total of 1kg) they are not really portable. This happens both due to the presence of a cable that connects the two speakers and because they are not equipped with a battery capable of providing them with autonomy and ultimately require a constant connection to the sound source.
In this case, the presence of the USB jack becomes essential to be able to connect the speakers to a wall socket and use them in Bluetooth mode.
Trying them with a gaming monitor without speakers, for example, I couldn’t get any sound because both via audio jack and USB port the speakers were not able to intercept the sound originating from the connection between console and monitor. This is because it is not compatible with consoles in any case, for obvious reasons.
Obviously things change by connecting them directly to a PC or via Bluetooth; given that in most cases we will need an electrical plug equipped with a USB port for wireless use.
The sound comes out clearly and cleanly, thanks to the 18W of speaker power, even at higher volumes the distortion is almost zero and we will never hear the speakers crackling.
The extra touch, which will surely please gamers, is given by the lighting placed at the base of the speakers. The presence of a row of small LEDs, which can be modified using the appropriate button, allows you to give a touch of color to the environment, according to the combinations RGB.
Nothing new or sensational, it still remains an extra touch in a product which, I repeat, being low cost, cannot offer who knows what wonderful things.
