The Israeli Ministry of Defense did not publish a photo of Gallant on the boat or the beach where he docked, only publishing a photo of “Gallant” among a number of officers and soldiers.
Gallant was wearing a helmet and bulletproof vest in the photo.
He said in statements he made from Gaza that Israeli forces will not leave Gaza until all detainees return to Israel.
He added, “Any future negotiations with Hamas will be carried out under fire.”
The English-language newspaper “The Times of Israel” reported that Gallant made these statements this morning during a tour in Gaza, his first since the outbreak of the Israeli war on Gaza on October 7, following the sudden and unprecedented Hamas attack.
She said that Gallant arrived in Gaza via sea with Vice Admiral David Saar Salama, commander of the Israeli naval forces.
Condition for future negotiations
The Israeli Defense Minister considered that the first batch of Israeli detainees released by Hamas on Friday returned to their country “as a result of pressure exerted by the army.”
He added: “Once the military pressure begins, they (Hamas) will ask for a break, and when you increase the pressure, they will need another break.”
He stressed that Israeli pressure is what forces Hamas to make concessions.
He stressed that the ceasefire will be short, and “any further negotiations will be under fire, meaning that if they (Hamas) want to continue negotiations on the second deal, the negotiations will take place while the bombs fall and the forces fight.”
