Annalisa: “I’m rooting for Elodie and Emma, we are few female singers”
“In Italy we are few female singers and they bother us a lot”: Annalisa declared this in an interview with magazine Seven on the occasion of his concert at the Assago Forum scheduled for tomorrow evening, Saturday 4 November.
On the success achieved in the last period, the singer states: “I try to savor it as much as possible, I carve out moments to look at it from the outside and become aware of the fact that it came along a path. It’s right to indulge in a little celebration without thinking about anything. On the other hand, however, I am never 100% happy, I think about what I can improve. That’s how I am, I don’t relax. I would like my happiness to be fuel, a starting point for future work. The world of music is complicated, we always start from scratch, we are aware of this. Before this moment there were many less beautiful ones.”
The artist then talks about the so-called “sexy turn” stating that this label doesn’t bother her: “I do entertainment and this is part of the entertainment. If an interpretation works well for me, it amuses me and it’s within my range, why deprive myself of it? For every action there is a reaction. If I play with the image the song comes more direct.”
On her private life and the news of her alleged pregnancy which was later denied, Annalisa declares: “I have already said how indelicate she was. I would add, however, that it bothered me even more to find myself commenting on a piece of gossip when I should have been talking about my work, after a year in which I had also achieved great results. I believe it is a consequence of notoriety, but also of the times we live in, with a morbid focus on private lives.”
On his relationship with Elodie and the other singers, however, the interpreter states: “We respect each other and I think it’s important to support each other. In Italy there are few female singers and they bother us a lot, if we undress too much, if we don’t undress, if we change our look… Nothing ever goes well. Even if everyone has their own path, it’s nice to be a team player. I root for Elodie, for Emma and for many others. However, I don’t see all this solidarity between male artists. There’s still a lot of progress to be made.”
And on his possible participation in the 2024 Sanremo Festival he declares: “The Festival is now a very important showcase and this is the time of the year when all of us artists start to think about it. As far as I’m concerned it depends on the song: it has to be perfect, if there’s even a slight doubt, mine or the team’s, it’s better to stay at home.”
