Santa Fe was in serious trouble to qualify for the semi-finals of the 2023-II League, after losing 2-3 against Millonarios in the 314th edition of the capital classic.
The Bogotá team, now with the Uruguayan Pablo Peirano as coach, has three consecutive defeats and is in 12th place of the League, with 23 points and a goal difference of -7, which forces them to win the two remaining games and wait for other results to advance to the next phase of the championship.
The losing streak began with a painful defeat against the League leader, Águilas Doradas, who won 0-5 in El Campín, on October 7. That defeat, plus the elimination in the quarterfinals of the Colombia Cup at the hands of Deportivo Pereira, cost the coach his head. Hubert Bodhert.
This is how Hubert Bodhert was dispatched after his departure from Santa Fe
The coach from Cartagena is already in his city and this Sunday he broke his silence after leaving the technical direction of Santa Fe. In statements to the portal primertiempo.co, from the capital of Bolívar, Bodhert defended his work in Bogotá and hinted that there were internal problems.
“Since we arrived, from date 1 to 16, we always had the team among the eight, we did not know what it was like to be ninth or tenth, and that is what we have to do in this. Things did not happen, the decisions are respected and we assumed the decisions with great maturity,” said Bodhert.
The Cartagena native hinted that the problems in Santa Fe go beyond his departure, without delving into details.
“The team has underlying problems, which will always fall on the coach but, simply, time will tell what is happening and where the reason for all this is,” Bodhert noted.
@primertiempococtg «SANTA FE HAS FUNDAMENTAL PROBLEMS, TIME WILL TELL WHAT IS HAPPENING» ⚽🔥 Like another fan, Hubert Bodhert accompanied Real Cartagena at the Jaime Morón León, in the Auriverde victory 1-0 against Boca de Cali. Until a few days ago, coach of Independiente Santa Fe, he spoke with PrimerTiempo.CO about his departure from the Cardinal team, and the real reasons for the problems in Santa Fe.
Bodhert’s time in Santa Fe is summarized in 16 League games, with a balance of six wins, five draws and five losses, with 17 goals scored and 22 conceded. In the Colombia Cup he directed four matches, of which he won one, drew two and lost one. His team only scored two goals and received four.
Bodhert was rumored to be joining Atlético Bucaramanga, but, for now, he did not shed light on his future: “We are looking at some things, there are things that we are listening to,” he concluded.
