Although it’s been almost a couple of months since its release, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom still totally fresh for those who are still exploring the lands of Hyrule in search of 100% of the title. That brings us to a recent interview with the producer Eiji Aonuma, who talks a bit about past video games in the saga.
During the conversation, the topic of what could happen in the future was opened, since they have mentioned not going back with the franchise, following the path established by Breath of the Wild in it 2017. That means, that they are no longer thinking much about the previous installments, and that has made the fans worry about something in particular.
Many are aware that there are games in the series that need a remake, especially the original installments of NES, and that comment from Aonuma suggests that they don’t plan to release something of that size for the next few years. Although even so, the producer is not saying a definitive “no”, so certain classics can return, only with tweaks to the graphic part and not mechanical.
The clearest example of all is The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, a game that had a new edition with improved graphics and controls that were a bit easier to tackle, especially the assignment of items to the buttons. Beyond that there aren’t that many implementations, so the line of remakes could go down the same path.

Editor’s note: I would like less to port Wind Waker HD to Nintendo Switch, I’m not asking for remakes or anything similar, just transferring that game to a console that is successful. Well, twice Toon Link has come out on consoles that are not very popular, it happened with Gamecube and also Wii U.
