In the first eight dates of the Colombian championship, two technicians have already left their position and four other teams had already changed managers before the current edition of the League began.
The first two victims of the semester were Diego Runner, who left Once Caldas on the fourth day, and Arturo Reyes, who just arranged his departure from Junior. World Cup player Hernán Darío Gómez is his replacement.
Instability has characterized several of the teams in Colombia, to the point that one of them appears in a study carried out by the El Mister portal, from Mexico, which analyzed the number of times that the teams of ten Latin American leagues in the last ten years.
The negative record is held by Vasco da Gama, from Brazil, which has had 34 technicians in the last decade. The Top 3 is completed by two other clubs from that country: Goiás (32) and Coritiba (30), the latter tied with Sportivo Luqueño, from Paraguay.
Teams with great achievements in recent times appear in that Top 20, such as Flamengo, the current Copa Libertadores champion and also winner in 2019, seventh with 26or Athlético Paranaense, twice champion of the Copa Sudamericana in that period, ninth with 25.
Bucaramanga, the most unstable in the Colombian League
A Colombian team appears on this list of the most unstable on the continent: it is the Atlético Bucaramanga, which since 2013 has hired 24 coaches. It should be remembered that, in that period, the team was promoted to A, in 2015, but has not been able to qualify for an international tournament again. The only one was in 1998, when he was runner-up.
Curiously, at the other extreme, that of the teams that change coaches the least, six Colombian teams appear in the top 20. River Plate has the best mark, with only three: Ramón Díaz, Marcelo Gallardo and now, Martín Demichelis.
Two Colombian clubs share third place: behind River and Tigres, from Mexico, which has had four coaches, are Deportes Tolima and La Equidad, with seven coach changes each. Millionaires have eight DT in 10 years, Unión Magdalena and Envigado nine and Alianza Petrolera 10.
Brazil, the most unstable league for coaches
Of the ten leagues that the El Mister portal analyzed, Brazil is the one with the highest average number of coaches per team: 23.2. Paraguay is the second, with 18, and Peru the third, with 17.
Colombia has one of the lowest averages: 13, only above Chile and Mexico, with 12 each.
