“Seeing a company that not only remains, but grows and invests after 40 years of permanence, is truly a source of great satisfaction for us that also demonstrates the competitiveness and potential of the Abruzzo region that we are all committed to strengthening”. Thus the governor Marco Marsilio, speaking this morning at the inauguration ceremony of the new Sterile Department 4 of Alfasigma in Alanno, in the province of Pescara.
“In the pharmaceutical sector – he says – Abruzzo has long expressed very important production districts: for us it is a good sign that multinationals such as Alfasigma, which export all over the world, choose our territory to invest. It is absolutely not obvious, on the contrary. We are talking about companies located in different parts of Italy, Europe and sometimes the world, so the competition in the area to attract investments and upgrade the plants is very strong. This is why, when we witness the upgrade of the plants in Abruzzo, we demonstrate that Abruzzo can be competitive and that it can win this challenge. Today we have proof of that”.
In Abruzzo “there are great skills and a wealth of human resources – the president points out – From the point of view of technological innovation, the Region is a fertile ground that allows companies with high added value, such as pharmaceuticals, to to be able to work here and to be able to make products of absolute quality”.
“Our hearts open when we see companies like Alfasigma growing in a world in which we are often called upon to respond to corporate crises due to fierce competition – continues Marsilio – In fact, globalization in recent decades has often impoverished the areas of Western Europe and Italy compared to other territories which, on the other hand, compete on this market often in an unfair manner from a social and environmental point of view; while in Italy and in Europe rules are created and respected which require companies to invest heavily in research, in safety, safeguarding the environment and with attention to human resources”.
Marsilio then recalled that Abruzzo is also “the first Region in Italy for the amount of funds made available by the Mise, now the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy, for innovation agreements. We have focused a lot on this, in order not to talk about the important resources included in the new regional programming cycle which will allow to give oxygen and decisive pushes to the growth of companies”.
