Mexico.- The former governor of Tamaulipas, Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca, would have fled from Mexico since last September 28before issuing the new arrest warrant against him, according to immigration sources.
Reports published by national media citing migratory sources They assure that Cabeza de Vaca is no longer in the countryeven though the panista assured that it would be a few vacations at his ranch in Tamaulipas.
Presumably, since September 28, two days before the inauguration of Américo Villarreal as governor of Tamaulipas, the PAN would have traveled to Texassince he has US citizenship.
However, Cabeza de Vaca’s legal defense ensures that his client is on vacation at his ranch in Tamaulipas, as the former governor himself declared on his social networks in the face of rumors of his possible escape.
On October 4, the Undersecretary of Public Security, Ricardo Mejía, announced that a new arrest warrant against Cabeza de Vaca for the crimes of organized crime, money laundering and tax fraud.
In turn, the National Migration Institute (INM) issued a migratory alert to avoid their possible escapeat the request of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR).
According to federal sources, procedures have been initiated before the Interpol to issue a red token for the search for the former governor of Tamaulipas in more than 120 countries.
From the National Palace, Ricardo Mejía clarified that the investigations against the PAN date back to 2018, before the start of the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
After the arrest warrant was issued, FrAncisco García Cabeza de Vaca accused that there is political persecution against him in order to provoke “distractors”, and warned that his legal defense would respond to the accusations.
“I learned from a SEGOB statement of an alleged arrest warrant and immigration alert against me. I am not surprised by this new wave of political persecution. The Government is urgently distracted. My defense will provide the pertinent information. Enough of persecuting opponents,” declared Cabeza de Vaca on October 5.
