French actor and screenwriter Olivier Siou, who starred in Russian cinema, received Russian citizenship. This is stated in decree President of Russia Vladimir Putin, published on September 26 on the official portal of legal information.
“Sioux Olivier, Vladimir, Charles, born on July 18, 1973 in France,” follows from the list of those accepted into the citizenship of the Russian Federation.
Olivier Siou starred in such Russian projects as “Kitchen in Paris”, “Trotsky”, “Union of Salvation. Time for anger.”
Putin also gave Russian citizenship to 21 finalists of the International track of the Leaders of Russia management competition. AT press service The organizer of the competition, the presidential platform “Russia – a Land of Opportunities”, specified that among those who received citizenship there are managers from Israel, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus and Georgia.
In total, citizenship is granted by Putin’s decree to another 72 citizens.
In addition, the document states that ex-CIA officer Edward Snowden received Russian citizenship.
In June 2013, Snowden gave The Guardian and The Washington Post classified material about the British and American surveillance programs on the Internet. After that, he fled to the Russian Federation. In August of the same year, he received temporary asylum in Russia, a year later – a three-year residence permit, which was then extended. As it became known in March, the documents for obtaining Russian citizenship by former US intelligence officer Edward Snowden are ready. His lawyer told about it.
