The Dubai Sports Council Summer Tournament for Team Games concluded its competitions with great success, with the participation of the four Dubai club teams: Shabab Al Ahly, Al Nasr, Al Wasl, and Hatta, which included three group games for the youth and juniors categories: volleyball, basketball, and handball.
The session witnessed strong competitions between the teams in various games, and Al-Ahly youth team won 5 titles, as it won first place in the “Youth Category” Basketball Championship, and also won first place in the Hand Championship “Youth and Juniors categories”, and also won first place in the Youth Championship Volleyball in the “youth and junior categories”, while Al-Nasr team won first place in the “junior category” basketball championship.
Dubai clubs hosted the tournament’s competitions, and also worked to provide the appropriate atmosphere for players to compete in an atmosphere identical to the official competitions, where the basketball tournament was held in Rashid bin Hamdan Hall at Al Nasr Sports Club, and the handball tournament was held in the Sheikh Rashid bin Maktoum Al Maktoum Hall at the Sports Club. Al-Wasl, while the volleyball tournament was held in the Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum Hall at Shabab Al-Ahly Club in Mamzar, and the three tournaments were held in accordance with the regulations in force in the Federation of each listed game.
The organization of the summer session for group games came in line with the Dubai Sports Council’s strategic plan that seeks to develop the youth sector and prepare the club teams for official competitions, and to give the youth and junior players the opportunity to participate in the largest number of their matches to increase the friction between the different skill levels, thus gaining them more experience. The course is an early preparation for the teams and players in an appropriate manner for the sports season, which helps them achieve their goals to reach the podiums.
The Dubai Sports Council is keen to benefit the technical staff from this course, as the course allows the technical staff to experience the players in order to identify their levels and find areas for improvement, and to achieve the required harmony between the players through the tournament matches before the start of the official competitions.
