Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu made the comments after signing the Ukrainian grain export agreement on Friday.
Shoigu stressed that his country will not try to benefit militarily from any possible operations to remove mines from Ukrainian ports after the agreement.
“We will not take advantage of cleaning these (Ukrainian) ports of mines and operating them. We have pledged to do so,” the minister said, in statements after the signing, carried by Russian television.
“We have all the data and solutions to start the process in the coming days. It is not only related to the export of agricultural products from Ukrainian ports, but also to the export of agricultural products and fertilizers from Russian ports,” he added.
Today, Friday, Ukraine and Russia signed an agreement with Turkey and the United Nations on the export of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea.
In a separate statement, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov promised that Moscow would fulfill all its obligations.
