Although many Egyptians believe that bee stings are a cure for some diseases and practice this custom in an inherited and traditional manner, two incidents occurred during the past weeks and by chance, bee stings caused the death of a young woman and a young man in two unexpectedly different incidents.
Sadness descended on the people of a village in the Gharbia Governorate following the death of a young woman in her late twenties from a bee sting. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation of the girl using the electric shock device, but the heart did not respond due to her suffering from allergies from bee stings, while the girl died in the hospital affected by that.
For his part, Professor of Bees at the Agricultural Research Center, Dr. Muhammad Omran, said that a bee sting can kill, especially as it lowers blood pressure, which may lead to a drop in blood circulation and thus stops the heart from working, pointing out that bee treatment has a specific and precise technique that is implemented only Specialists to conduct pre-examinations.
Dr. Omar added to Al-Ittihad: that prior allergy tests reveal the possibility of receiving treatment with bees or not, noting that accidental stings and death as a result of it are definitely caused by hypersensitivity, which leads to tuberculosis in the body, rapid breathing, high temperature and unconsciousness.
In the same context, last May witnessed a similar incident, but for the first time with a young man in one of the villages of the city of Tanta in the governorate. I started fainting from hypersalivation.
According to a professor of bees at the Research Center in Egypt, bee sting venom contains proteins that affect skin cells and the immune system, leading to pain and swelling around the sting area.
