Ubisoft continues to deal with his toxicity problems. This has led to several developers leaving the company and now it’s an industry veteran’s turn, that is Patrick Plourdewho has worked in the studio for nearly twenty years.
Plourde is the creator of Child of Light and, in addition, he worked on the development of other important projects. Plourde will step down as creative director, but will continue to partner with Ubisoft when he takes over. “I will be working most of my time with Ubisoft, but will now have a position outside of a traditional facility where I can dabble in other fields outside of gaming without having to ask my employer for permission.”He declared in an interview.
“We can confirm that Patrick will be leaving Ubisoft but will advise some of our creative directors, upon their request, and the editorial team on certain projects.“, reads the statement released by Ubisoft.
In addition to creating Child of Light, Plourde worked on major franchises such as Assassin’s Creed, where he was a level designer. Subsequently, he was part of the Far Cry 3 team, as he was its creative director. He also contributed to the development of Watch Dogs 2.
