The local governor's office and broadcast stations reported that one person was killed and seven others were injured yesterday, Friday, in the southern Turkish province of Antalya after a cable car cabin collided with a broken pole.
The governor's office said in a statement on the social media platform X that the injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, and 24 cabins were suspended in the air.
The office stated that emergency rescue units evacuated 40 people from seven cable car cabins, and efforts are continuing to evacuate 134 people stranded in other cabins.
Helicopters and other vehicles were dispatched to the scene for evacuation efforts from the cable car line.
According to the information on the cable car company's website, the cable car has 36 cabins, each of which can accommodate six people, and takes ascent to the Tunık Tepe facility with sweeping views of Antalya.
