The national youth basketball team entered its closed camp with 22 players in preparation for the Arab Championship and the Asian qualifiers during the coming period, and the training is led by the national technical staff, consisting of Salem Ateeq, Ayoub Ahmed and Jassim Abdel Reda, at Salah El Din Hall in Dubai.
The squad list includes the players: Mohammed Saeed Abdullah, Mansour Abdullah Saeed, Zayed Tariq Al-Sayed (Al-Wehda), Rakan Abdullah Rabei, Saeed Ali Ahmed (Bani Yas), Salem Fadel Al-Shamsi, Rakan Ghanem Al-Shamri (Al-Ain), Saif Hamed Mohammed, Abdulaziz Khalifa Abdullah (Al-Wasl), Hussein Khaled Nasser (Al-Ahly youth), Saeed Hashel, Muhammad Abdullah Jaber, Rashid Abdul-Hakim, Zayed Tawfiq Al-Jasmi, Khalifa Tawfiq Al-Jasmi (Sharjah), Hussein Ibrahim Al-Sayed, Hussein Habib Abbas, Hamad Mahmoud Saleh, Ali Ahmed Ali, Omar Ismail Darwish, Abdullah Mahmoud Hussein (Al-Nasr), and Mansour Saqr Al-Hammadi (Khor Fakkan).
The training was attended by Abdul Latif Al-Fardan, Vice President of the Federation, Head of the National Teams Committee, and Dr. Munir bin Al Habib, the technical director of the Federation and the national teams, led the training Salem Atiq, which included many technical and physical stages, and the fitness of the players of the team is still good, especially since the season’s competitions ended a short time ago, as Al Wasl team recently crowned the Youth Cup title after winning In the final match against Sharjah Club.
Abdullatif Al-Fardan stressed that this stage is important for this generation of players in light of two very important entitlements, the first is to participate in the Arab Championship to be held in the Egyptian capital Cairo from 14 to 21 July, then followed by the Gulf Championship hosted by Dubai during the period from 26 July Until August 6, a tournament that qualifies for the Asian finals for this age group.
Al-Fardan said: “We have great confidence in this generation of young players to continue the boom in the game, which recently resulted in the gold medal in the Gulf Games that took place in Kuwait, as well as in the technical staff who are doing their best to raise the level of players.”
