The Ras Al Khaimah operating abattoirs received 21,830 carcasses over the past three months, as part of high-quality services that reduce waiting hours and speed in providing excellent service.
Thanks to the technical and veterinary staff, the abattoirs of Ras Al Khaimah were able to examine all the animals they received to verify their health and safety for human consumption before and after slaughter and work to continue the operations provided, in addition to culling others that did not meet the requirements for consumption.
Shaima Al Tunaiji, Director of the Public Health Department in Ras Al Khaimah Municipality, told Al Ittihad: “The department seeks to provide qualitative services to customers that comply with their needs and requirements, including those provided in the emirate’s slaughterhouses that provide examination services for animals to be slaughtered in accordance with health requirements and proper methods in force. And others until they are fully delivered to the hands of consumers in order to preserve their safety and health.
She stated that the abattoirs of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah provide integrated services and facilities, including waiting halls to receive members of the community, and allocate the veterinary and technical medical team that is concerned with providing services and accelerating the pace of tasks and operations without delay, smoothly and flexibly to ensure the application of the best control and health standards.
She revealed that the working abattoirs of the emirate received, within 3 months, about 21,830 carcasses of various types of animals to be slaughtered. If eaten, which amounted to 85 carcasses were completely executed.
She added: “The partial executions amounted to 515, as the necessary procedures were followed by the specialized teams in the disposal of parts unfit for consumption, including sheep, goats and others that are usually received by slaughterhouses, with the issuance of certificates of their health status to the consumer.
Is mandatory
Medical examination of animals received by slaughterhouses is mandatory by examining all organs and identifying changes that occur in the animal and the carcass in order to be able to diagnose the health condition, which requires specialized doctors with experience and competence to detect those changes that may harm the health of consumers in the event that they are ingested that do not meet the requirements.
