The Israeli Foreign Minister reproaches the Government for “separating” Spain from Israel
The Israeli Foreign Minister, Israel Katz, has once again attacked the Spanish Government this Monday in a new message published on his X account, in which he assures that “the Israeli and Spanish people are friends” and that he will not allow even the head of the Executive of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, nor the vice president, Yolanda Díaz, “separate them”, after the decision to recognize the Palestinian State.
“The Israeli people and the Spanish people are friendly people. “We will not allow you (Pedro Sánchez), nor you (Yolanda Díaz), nor the members of your Government to separate us,” he writes on his X account, in which he attaches an image with the flags of Spain and Israel held by people .
Katz’s new reproach comes just a few hours after this Monday he sent a diplomatic note to the Spanish Embassy in Tel Aviv in which he formalized the prohibition on the Spanish Consulate in Jerusalem from providing consular services as of June 1 to the Palestinians residing in the occupied West Bank.
The anger and reprisals announced by Katz arise after Sánchez’s announcement that he will recognize the Palestinian State tomorrow, Tuesday, May 28, along with Norway and Ireland.
“We are in the year 2024, the days of the Inquisition are over. Today we Jews have a sovereign and independent State and no one will force us to convert our religion or threaten our existence. “Whoever harms us, we will harm,” Katz stated in a statement in which he formally announced the first “punitive measures against Spain.”
Also yesterday, Minister Katz published on his X account a video with typical images of Spain, in which two actors parody flamenco dancing, interspersed with images of the Hamas attack in Israel on October 7; accompanied by the message “Hamas appreciates your services,” mentioning President Pedro Sánchez.
