Of the developed ones the Boston Dynamics company known for its human robots published on Wednesday a completely redesigned version of its Atlas robot. The development of the old versions of the Atlas robots, which previously demonstrated their motor skills, has been stopped and the company now plans to focus on its new fully electric robot.
The new Atlas is smaller, more streamlined and more powerful than its predecessors. In addition, according to the company, it is able to move its joints better, which enables more natural movement. The large head of the robot resembles an SLR camera lens or a reading lamp.

Atlas at the same time, human-like and inhuman-like movements have evoked mixed reactions in technology publications.
“Boston Dynamics' new Atlas robot is a turning, shape-shifting nightmare,” headlined the US The Verge -publication.
The publication compares the movements of the robot with the instructor by David Cronenberg to the list of horror films. In his films, Cronenberg deals with, among other things, body modification.
British Broadcasting Corporation BBC estimates that Atlas can twist its joints more skillfully than its predecessors.
Also An Ars Technica publication again praises the robot's movement.
“It seems basic, but have you ever seen a humanoid robot stand up?” the magazine points out in its article. “Atlas can do that, and probably in the most terrifying way possible.”

Musk presented a prototype model of its Optimus robot in 2022, but Tesla has not said when the device is planned to go on sale.
According to Musk, in the development of the robot, the artificial intelligence already in Tesla cars has been used, thanks to which the cars are partly self-driving.
Stateside originally founded, Boston Dynamics is now owned by the South Korean car manufacturer Hyundai.
