The authority stated that the fine was imposed on Google as a result of its failure to take action regarding what the authority raised about fair competition with other local search engines.
Last May, the Competition Protection Authority in Turkey decided to impose a fine on Google due to its failure to fulfill its obligations regarding part of its local search services.
The Authority stated that it will impose a daily fine on the company until it adheres to the decisions of the Authority’s Board of Directors that have been in effect since April 15.
It is noteworthy that Google was subjected to a huge fine last March of 250 million euros from the Competition Authority in France, linked to a long-term dispute over paying money to French publishers in exchange for providing news related to them.
