Employees of the National Treasury and the General Comptroller of the Union (CGU) approved a general strike for this Tuesday, 28th, due to the lack of progress in career negotiations. Despite the increase in mobilization, the Treasury states that areas considered critical by the agency, such as bond auctions and debt payments, will not be affected by the act.
“The National Treasury closely monitors the mobilization of employees in the Finance and Control career and its impacts on the institution’s activities. At the moment, the agency’s critical processes are carried out normally, however there is a slowness in other activities, resulting in an extension of the delivery schedule for non-critical projects and processes. Operations related to the management of the Federal Public Debt, including bond auctions and debt payments, are defined by the National Treasury as critical processes. In this sense, such activities are not affected by the movement”, said the agency in a note.
According to the category union, the mobilization could impact transfers to states and municipalities, with safeguards for Rio Grande do Sul. At the CGU, the impact will be on responding to requests for information made on the Transparency Portal.
The Treasury also added that it supports the civil servants’ right to claim, “always in a balanced, responsible manner”, with the commitment to “not compromise the continuity of the provision of essential services to society during discussions on career remuneration issues”.
The categories have already approved a strike indication for the 11th and 12th of June, with intensification of the standard operation in both bodies.
The servers will have a negotiation table with the Ministry of Management this Tuesday, the same day they plan an event to take place at the Treasury headquarters. Next week, they should carry out two more events in front of the Finance and Management ministries.
“Four months ago we presented our agenda to the federal government and we still haven’t had a response. Therefore, we will intensify career mobilization in the coming weeks, until the activities come to a complete halt”, said Rudinei Marques, president of Unacon Sindical, which represents the categories.
