The president of Argentina, Javier Milei, has confirmed the death threats against members of his Government in a video broadcast this Sunday on social networks by an alleged “narcoterrorist” group and has assured that the authors, who have not yet been identified, will be brought to justice.
“The Government of the Province of Santa Fe and the Ministry of Security have received a video of a narcoterrorist organization still unidentified, threatening to kill Governor (Maximiliano) Pullaro, the Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich, and the Argentine people,” the Office of the Argentine president reported on his social network account X.
In the video, which is circulating on social networks and the media, four people appear with their faces covered and a series of different types of weapons in their hands. “We are installed here in Buenos Aires“We are going to start leaving dead people here, this will never end,” they said.
The alleged terrorists have directly targeted the governor of Sante Fe and the Minister of Security, whom They have been called “gangsters” and accused of “killing innocent people”. “Do something for the kids, so they don’t become criminals. Do jobs, schools (…) Stop playing politics with prisoners,” they declared.
The far-right president has described this fact as “clear terrorist threat” and has denounced that its authors intend to “instill terror in the population and in the democratically elected authorities.”
Milei has assured that the security forces, the Intelligence services and the Army are working together with the Government and the authorities of Santa Fe to “find these terrorists and bring them to justice.”
Furthermore, he has taken the opportunity to take advantage of his management, alleging that his “new” security doctrine –“he who does it, pays”– has reduced homicides in Rosario “by 80 percent” and generated “multimillion-dollar losses for the drug traffickers who had taken control” of the most populated city of Santa Fe.
“Our message to these organizations is the following: make no mistake, with us you will never be able to. In the new Argentina there is no room for armed violence. If they proceed, they will be confronted with the full weight of the law,” the Argentine president assured.
