Along with console sales, Nintendo has also revealed how well its games have fared during the last fiscal quarter. During this period we saw the release of titles such as Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door and Luigi’s Mansion 2 HDwhich is why many have been eagerly awaiting this information.
Between April and June 2024, 30.64 million units of software were sold on the Nintendo Switchwhich represents a decrease of 41.3% compared to the 52.21 million that were recorded during the same period last year. As for new releases, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door reached 1.76 million, while Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD exceeded 1.19 million. Finally, Princess Peach: Showtime! reached 1.3 million since its launch in March.
Similarly, The list of best-selling games on the Switch has been updatedwhere not much has changed:
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – 62.90 million
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons – 45.85 million
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – 34.66 million
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – 32.05 million
- Super Mario Odyssey – 28.21 million
- Pokemon Sword/Shield – 26.35 million
- Pokemon Scarlet/Violet – 25.29 million
- Super Mario Party – 20.84 million
- The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – 20.80 million
- New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe – 17.61 million
This makes it clear that reaching the millionth unit is something to be expected for almost any first-party release on Switch. While the console is in its last year of support, There are still several titles in the pipeline, such as Mario & Luigi Brotherhood and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. In related news, here’s how the Switch’s sales fared. Similarly, Nintendo’s stock fell.
Author’s Note:
The Switch is still a hit, although it’s not as big as it once was, and that’s only natural. After eight years on the market, it’s impossible for a console to perform as well as it did at its peak.
