Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in Moscow have dropped significantly thanks to the introduction of electric buses. The mayor of the city, Sergei Sobyanin, announced in his Telegram that the air in the capital has become cleaner.channel.
Sobyanin recalled that electric buses appeared in Moscow in 2018. According to him, since then carbon dioxide emissions have been reduced by 130 thousand tons. “One electric bus reduces CO2 emissions by 60 tons per year; today there are already more than 1.7 thousand such vehicles,” the mayor noted.
The head of the capital promised that by 2030, 5.3 thousand electric buses will travel along Moscow streets, which will replace buses and significantly improve the environmental situation.
Earlier, Sobyanin said when a shipyard for the construction of electric ships would open in Moscow. According to him, the enterprise will be launched at the end of 2024.
