The Volleyball Federation will host the second edition of the West Asian Youth Championship next August in Abu Dhabi, with the expected participation of 10 teams. Abdulaziz Al-Salman, Secretary-General of the Federation, confirmed that hosting this tournament comes from the standpoint of preparing the youth team, which is the hope and future of Emirati volleyball, to compete in the upcoming competitions.
He explained that the federation seeks to create all conditions to prepare the team to compete in this tournament in a way that meets the federation’s ambitions, noting that it is waiting for the preparation program to be presented by the technical committee for approval and to begin implementing it.
Al-Salman confirmed that the next season will be a season of “reaping the fruits” after the great developments and adjustments that accompanied the local championships over the past and current seasons. He pointed out that the Air Force Association developed a strategy with the aim of raising the level of local championships and improving the form of competition between clubs, especially at the level of men’s championships, and the amendments that occurred in the competitions during these two seasons, which resulted in great clubness and diversity in competition between the various clubs.
