The Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated, in a statement, that the support will be directed to the main partners from the United Nations agencies, including: the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, the World Food Programme, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the Food and Agriculture Organization, and the World Health Organization, ensuring Following a comprehensive approach to address the humanitarian crisis and limit the aggravation of famine in Sudan. Since the beginning of the crisis, the UAE has provided $130 million to support the humanitarian response and 9,500 tons of food and medical supplies by operating 148 relief planes, in addition to a ship carrying about 1,000 tons of urgent relief supplies. The UAE also supported Sudanese refugee camps in Abéché and in a number of regions in Chad.
In addition, a food aid plane carrying 100 tons was flown to Sudanese refugees in South Sudan through the World Food Programme.
Her Excellency added, “Within the framework of providing medical services to Sudanese refugees in neighboring countries, the UAE has built two field hospitals in Amdgrass and Abéché, Chad, to support our fellow Sudanese refugees. Their services extend to all civilians, regardless of nationality, age, gender, or political affiliation. The number of More than 29,378 cases have been received by the hospital in Amdgrass since its opening.
Her Excellency reiterated the position of the UAE calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, and working to find a peaceful solution to the crisis, by returning to the political track, giving priority to the voice of wisdom and reason, and intensifying collective action and joint efforts to push towards stopping the conflict and ending the crisis in a way that enhances the security and stability of Sudan, and leads to… To stop the bloodshed, and achieve a national consensus to form a government in which civilians participate and are led, in a way that meets the aspirations of its brotherly people for development and prosperity.
