Vehicles can get very hot if you leave them parked on the street during the summer
The high temperatures typical of summer can cause your car to become an oven if you leave it parked for many hours in the sun. The thermal effect that takes place in a closed space, such as the passenger compartment of a vehicle, can be the cause of the interior temperature being much higher than the exterior, triggering the registers.
The General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) reminds that to drive in optimal conditions the vehicle must have an adequate temperature. According to various studies, in summer the interior of a car can reach 60ºC, almost three times more than the comfort temperature that the DGT recommends for driving safely. The body led by Pere Navarro advises setting the temperature of the air conditioning between 22 and 24 degrees to prevent excess heat from affecting the driver.
Statistics show that heat increases the risk of an accident, as excessively high temperatures negatively influence the driver. Heat can alter the driver’s ability to react, increasing aggressiveness and causing fatigue.
The trick to cool down your car
Heat considerably increases the risk of an accident, as it has a negative influence on the driver. A Japanese professor revealed a trick that you can use before starting the engine. You should roll down the passenger car window, then open and close the driver’s door quickly and forcefully about five times. Although it seems incredible to you, this technique works and in just a few moments the temperature of the passenger compartment is much more pleasant.
In addition to trying to cool your car with this simple trick, you can use other alternatives without the need for air conditioning. You must place wet rags on the ventilation outlets, use curtains and sunshades are very simple solutions to apply. You can also use tinted windows, although you have to keep in mind that it is only allowed on the rear windows.
