The State Public Prosecution clarified, through a film material that it published today on its social media accounts, the penalty for using electronic systems to commit crimes and conceal evidence.
The Public Prosecution indicated that in accordance with Article 16 of Federal Decree Law No. 34 of 2021 regarding combating rumors and cybercrime, a penalty of imprisonment for a period of no less than /2/ two years and a fine of no less than /200,000/ two hundred thousand dirhams and not more than /1,000,000/ million Dirhams, or one of these two penalties, whoever possesses, acquires, prepares, designs, produces, imports, makes available or uses any information program, information technology means, pass codes or codes, or uses encryption with the intent to commit any of the crimes stipulated in this Decree. by law, concealing its evidence or traces, or preventing its discovery.
The dissemination of this information comes within the framework of the State Public Prosecution’s ongoing campaign to enhance the legal culture among members of society, publish all the new and updated legislation in the country, and raise the level of public awareness of the law, with the aim of spreading the culture of law as a way of life.
