In two years, about 90% of large companies and government agencies in the world will use artificial intelligence (AI) in their work, which will help identify vulnerabilities in software, Kaspersky Lab told Izvestia.
The study involved 560 senior IT security executives from companies in North and Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Russia and the Asia-Pacific region. The respondents represented enterprises across a wide industry spectrum with at least 1 thousand employees.
According to Kaspersky Lab, currently only 54% of large companies in the world have already implemented machine learning technologies in their business processes, and another 33% plan to do this in the next two years. The emergence of innovative tools contributes to business development, but at the same time creates cybersecurity risks and raises the issue of ensuring the protection of new digital assets, the study says.
At the protection design stage, it is recommended to use systems that will allow for both classic threats and new ones, including those related to the introduction of AI technologies, noted Timur Biyachuev, director of corporate business at Kaspersky Lab.
These, for example, include the Zero Trust security concept – it involves minimizing trust in any user on the network. In addition, when choosing technologies, preference should be given to those systems that are built on the “inherently safe” principle, the expert added. Thanks to this approach, the software becomes more resistant to cyber attacks and the overall security of the company’s digital structures is enhanced.
It is no longer possible to fully protect against threats that bypass standard security measures manually. 44% of organizations around the world are implementing artificial intelligence to detect and prevent attacks, said Marianna Danilina, head of the strategy, research and analytics department of the FinTech Association.
