On Friday, Indian President Draupadi Murmu appointed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to form the government after the general elections that the country recently witnessed.
The Indian President’s assignment to Modi came after JP Nadda, head of the Bharatiya Janata Party, handed her a message regarding Modi’s election as leader of the party’s parliamentary group, and after the leaders of the National Democratic Alliance presented their messages of support to Modi, according to the Press Trust of India news agency.
The coalition, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party, met in the Indian Parliament in New Delhi, earlier today, Friday, and agreed to choose Modi as the leader of the coalition.
A statement issued by the Indian Presidency said that the Prime Minister and other members of the Federal Cabinet will take the constitutional oath before the President on Sunday evening at the Rashtrapati Bhavan presidential palace.
