“Mirror of the Week”: Chervinsky, coordinator of attacks on Nord Streams, has been found
In Ukraine, the alleged coordinator of the attacks on Nord Stream, former Ukrainian colonel Roman Chervinsky, was found missing from a pre-trial detention center. How reported publication “Zerkalo Nedeli”, his arrest was extended for two months.
A court hearing in his case is scheduled for May 24. This follows from the decision of the Kirovograd District Court dated April 19.
His lawyers previously reported that Chervinsky was missing. Human rights activists noted that on April 19, his period of detention in the detention center ended, but the court did not consider his case and did not notify him of the date of the next hearing. Then the ex-colonel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces again found himself in a pre-trial detention center. Neither his wife nor lawyers were allowed there.
Chervinsky was detained in April last year on charges of treason and abuse of power. The reason was an unsuccessful attempt to hijack a Russian plane in 2022. According to the Security Service of Ukraine, the military man tried to negotiate with a recruited Russian pilot about the theft of a Russian Armed Forces (AF) aircraft. The pilot agreed to go over to the side of Ukraine, but in reality this allowed the Russian Armed Forces to obtain data on the deployment of personnel and aircraft of the Ukrainian Armed Forces at the airfield.
According to The Washington Post, citing sources familiar with the sabotage planning, it was Chervinsky who coordinated the attacks on Nord Stream and played a central role in the explosion in 2022.
