Governor Kobzev: Maxim Konyushin and Viktor Kryuchkov died in the crash of the Su-30 in Irkutsk
During the crash of the Su-30 on a private house in Irkutsk, two pilots died – Maxim Konyushin and Viktor Kryuchkov. The identity of the pilots was revealed by the governor of the Irkutsk region Igor Kobzev in his Telegram-channel.
Konyushin was born in Primorye and graduated from the Zhukovsky Air Force Engineering Academy with a degree in Aircraft Testing. The Russian was awarded medals of the Russian Ministry of Defense “For Distinction in Military Service” of the third, second and first degree, he was also awarded the title of “Honored Test Pilot of Russia”.
According to Kobzev, the deceased pilot left behind a wife and two children. The brother and wife of the deceased asked to be buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery in Moscow, the governor said. He stressed that an appeal is being prepared with a corresponding request to the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.
The second pilot was born in Ukraine, the Irkutsk governor said. He said that Kryuchkov graduated from the Krasnodar Military Aviation Institute with honors and carried out test flights in Akhtubinsk. The pilot moved to Irkutsk about ten years ago. “Co-workers say that Viktor Viktorovich was greedy for flights. Airplanes were his life. A real ace,” wrote Kobzev. The governor of the Russian region expressed condolences to the families and friends of the dead pilots.
The Su-30 plane fell on a two-story house in Irkutsk on Przhevalsky Street on Sunday, October 23. A military aircraft was conducting a test flight. After it crashed, a fire started. The exact reasons for the incident are not known yet.
The governor of the region said that two families whose house was hit by a Su-30 in Irkutsk would receive payments of 100,000 rubles. He clarified that five people lived in a house with an area of 100 square meters, but at the time of the plane crash there was no one in the building.
