Moscow does not plan to withdraw from the Outer Space Treaty and is not considering such an issue. When asked to comment on reports from a number of Western media, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov recently stated this, reports Interfax.
According to him, the agreement remains one of the key components of the system of international agreements in this area, which has been developing over decades. At the same time, the diplomat pointed out that the United States, which launched into the information space the topic of Russia’s possible deployment of nuclear weapons in space, does not comply with the spirit of the treaty.
