The military faces life imprisonment
According to the informant, two servicemen detained for the massacre of seven residents of Abrikosovka face punishment up to life imprisonment.
Those accused of the crime are two Russian soldiers, Alexander Osipov and Alexander Kaygorodtsev. They confessed to the murders. The soldiers were handed over to the military police on April 26. At the time of the commission of the crimes, both detainees were very drunk.
Seven people were killed by the military
All victims were found in the villages of Podo-Kalinovka and Abrikosovka. Their bodies were found in different places with gunshot wounds and burns, some were disfigured by fire. The body of the first victim with traces of burns and gunshot wounds was found on the morning of April 24 in Podo-Kalinovka. She was a local resident born in 1959.

Two other dead were found in the village of Abrikosovka: presumably the head of the village administration, Lyubov Tymchak, and a military man. They were badly burned. The servicemen planned to settle in one of the houses in the village and turned to the local administration, but, having received a refusal due to the lack of free houses, they attacked the woman and dealt with her.
Afterwards, the criminals set fire to two houses in the village and tried to set fire to a third using fuel and grenades. Because of the tragedy, three days of mourning were declared in the Aleshkinsky municipal district. Initially, five people were listed as victims, but their number increased to seven.
One of the detainees was convicted several times
Kaygorodtsev earlier was convicted under Part 2 of Article 228 and Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – for possession or manufacture of drugs on an especially large scale and murder. In 2021, he was also convicted of theft under Part 2 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
During the arrest, both soldiers were found with shell casings, bullets and a grenade ring. The cartridges found in Abrikosovka were from a Kalashnikov assault rifle.
