At least 50 people were killed and 27 others are still missing as a result of floods and cold lava flows on the island of Sumatra in western Indonesia, according to what the authorities announced on Tuesday.
The disaster also resulted in 37 injuries and required the evacuation of about 3,400 people from their homes, according to what was announced by the spokesman for the National Disaster Management Authority, Abed Al-Mahari.
On Saturday evening, heavy rain fell for several hours in the provinces of Agam and Tanah Datar, located west of the island of Sumatra, causing flash floods and a torrent of cold lava coming from the Marabi volcanic mountain.
The previous toll was 43 people killed.
