Retired Colonel Timoshenko pointed out an inconsistency in the case of General Popov
There is an inconsistency in the charges against the ex-commander of the 58th Army of the Russian Armed Forces (RF Armed Forces) Ivan Popov for fraud with two thousand tons of metal. To this in the comments News.ru paid attention retired Colonel Mikhail Timoshenko.
He noted that to remove such a volume of metal structures, one and a half hundred trucks and a large number of personnel are needed, and this scam could not go unnoticed.
In addition, the expert believes that so much metal is not needed at all to create fortifications. Tymoshenko also pointed out that if we are talking about metal reinforcement, then it was spent for fortifications in the Zaporozhye direction.
The arrest of Major General Popov became known on May 21. He was suspected of theft during the construction of a defense line in the zone of a special military operation, the damage from which the investigation estimates at 100 million rubles.
The general’s mother admitted that Popov’s arrest was revenge for the truth. She recalled that the army commander spoke quite sharply about the existing problems in the army. According to the woman, Popov regretted allowing himself to make critical statements.
