Stellar Blade is censored, despite the developers claiming the opposite: it's controversial

Although the Korean ShiftUp team proudly claimed that Stellar Blade would be released uncensored in all territories, it emerged in the hours following launch that the game actually has immediately censoredand although these are decidedly marginal elements, they were enough to trigger the controversy by various players.

Just a few days ago, the ShiftUp studio reported that Stellar Blade had no censorship, but after launch it emerged that some costumes have been changed to cover the body of the protagonist Eve more, with one of these which would have been totally removed following the day one patch.

The issue immediately raised a certain fuss, above all because it would conflict with the team's previous proclamations, so much so that the director Hyung Tae Kim he commented on the issue during a press conference, acknowledging that some censorship has been applied and that there is “an internal discussion” on the issue.

Beyond the total removal of a costume in a particularly skimpy oriental dress style, another change noted concerns a one-piece swimsuit style outfit, which initially appeared decidedly more high-cut and to which additional parts were applied to cover the protagonist more, both in terms of the legs and the neckline .

It also seems that the amount of blood and gore in the battles has also been balanced downwards compared to what was initially shown.

These variations would have been applied especially with the day one patch by Stellar Blade, which among other things also introduced the New Game Plus and removed the famous racist writing inserted “by mistake” into the game.

Tae Kim's comment may suggest a possible rethink on the censorship applied, but at the moment it seems difficult that something like this can be restored as in the original. This has clearly sparked the usual controversy that is resulting in the usual accusations regarding woke culture and the like, although the issue seems rather exaggerated at the moment, considering the subject of the discussion.
