Mishustin: Trade turnover between Russia and Uzbekistan could triple by 2030
Russia and Uzbekistan have all the necessary resources and opportunities to increase bilateral trade turnover threefold by 2030. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin predicted a sharp increase in trade between the Russian Federation and the Central Asian country, his words are quoted by TASS.
The head of government recalled that by the end of 2023, the trade turnover between the two countries had increased by 11.5 percent compared to the 2022 figure and exceeded 820 billion rubles. The positive dynamics continued in the first half of 2024. The increase by the end of January-June was almost nine percent, Mishustin said.
He added that the authorities of both countries have a mutual desire for “fruitful activity” and a desire to continue developing trade and economic cooperation. One of the priorities will be to achieve the goal of sharply increasing trade turnover in the next six years, as directed by Presidents Vladimir Putin and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Russian Prime Minister summed up.
Earlier, State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin predicted a sharp increase in Russia’s trade turnover with another Asian country. According to him, the total volume of trade between Russia and Vietnam could reach $15 billion in monetary terms by 2030. Such dynamics, as the State Duma Chairman specified, will be facilitated by the stable growth of bilateral trade and economic ties.
