Russia|Russian athletes compete under a neutral flag.
International Olympic Committee IOC announced on Saturday that it will grant permission to at least 14 Russians and 11 Belarusians to participate in the Olympic Games in Paris this summer.
The IOC published a list of 25 individual athletes who are eligible for the Olympics. The named athletes had to pass checks organized by international sports federations and the IOC, which clarified that they do not actively support Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.
Russian and Belarusian athletes compete in Paris under a neutral flag without national emblems, and no national anthems are played for them. On Saturday, licensed athletes will compete in Paris in road cycling, trampoline gymnastics, weightlifting and wrestling.
The Olympic Games in Paris begin on July 26.
