Putin, on the eve of his visit to the DPRK, wrote an article published in Rodong Sinmun
The North Korean newspaper Rodong Sinmun (“Nodong Sinmun”) published an article by Russian President Vladimir Putin “Russia and the DPRK: traditions of friendship and cooperation through the years.” The publication appeared on the eve of the Russian leader’s visit to the DPRK.
In the material, the head of state discussed the interaction and cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang, pointed out the US attempts to impose its political will on the countries and emphasized the need to resist the neocolonial dictatorship.
The Russian leader will fly to North Korea late in the evening on June 18. Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said that the entire program begins on June 19. First, an official welcoming ceremony will take place, followed by negotiations between the delegations. Following the negotiations, Putin and Kim Jong-un will speak to the media.

Putin spoke about the DPRK’s support for conducting a military military operation
Putin noted that Moscow highly values North Korea’s support in conducting a special military operation in Ukraine, solidarity on key international issues and willingness to defend common views at the UN.
Pyongyang was and remains our convinced like-minded supporter, ready to resolutely resist the desire of the collective West to prevent the formation of a multipolar world order based on justice, mutual respect for sovereignty, and consideration of each other’s interests
Earlier, Russian political scientist Sergei Markov admitted that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to the DPRK was connected with North Korean weapons and construction workers from this country. According to him, North Korea has millions of shells that the country can supply to Russia. In addition, he suggested that citizens of the country could become volunteers “to the front.”
Putin accused the US of striving for a neocolonial dictatorship
Putin said the United States is seeking to impose a so-called rules-based order on the world, which is essentially a global neo-colonial dictatorship with double standards.
Countries that do not agree with this approach and pursue independent policies are faced with increasingly severe external pressure. The US leadership views such a natural and legitimate desire for independence and independence as a threat to its dominance in the world
Earlier, John Kirby, coordinator of strategic communications at the National Security Council, noted that the United States is concerned about the deepening relations between Russia and the DPRK. In his opinion, interaction between Moscow and Pyongyang “will affect security on the Korean Peninsula.”
Putin said that the United States aims to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia
Putin said that the United States and its satellites openly aim to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia.
They are doing everything to prolong the conflict in Ukraine, which they themselves provoked by supporting and organizing the events on the Maidan in Kyiv in 2014, and then the war in Donbass, he emphasized.
At the same time, all these years they have time and again rejected all our attempts to peacefully resolve the situation. Russia has been and will be open to equal dialogue on all the most complex issues. I spoke about this again recently – during a meeting with Russian diplomats in Moscow
Earlier, Putin, at a meeting with the leadership of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said that Moscow is ready to begin the negotiation process if Ukraine agrees to the conditions set. Kyiv must withdraw troops from four new regions of Russia: Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics (LPR and DPR). In addition, the republic should abandon the idea of joining NATO. The president called Ukraine’s neutral and nuclear-free status one of the Kremlin’s fundamental demands.

Attempts to isolate Russia have failed
Putin emphasized that adversaries continue to supply Ukraine with weapons, money and intelligence data, and allow and encourage the use of these weapons to launch attacks on Russian territory.
In addition, the West is trying to exhaust the economy with ever new sanctions and provoke an increase in socio-political tension within the country. However, all their attempts were unsuccessful.
But no matter how hard they tried, all their attempts to contain and isolate Russia failed. We continue to confidently increase our economic potential, develop industry, technology, infrastructure, science, education, culture
He emphasized that the DPRK, despite “many years of economic pressure, provocations, blackmail and military threats from the United States,” continues to defend its interests just as effectively.
The head of state also recalled that the leadership of North Korea, led by Kim Jong-un, has repeatedly expressed a desire to resolve all differences peacefully, but Washington, abandoning previous agreements, is putting forward new, increasingly stringent and obviously unacceptable demands.
Russia and North Korea will develop alternative trade and settlement mechanisms
Putin said Moscow is ready to work closely with Pyongyang to make international relations more democratic and stable.
To do this, we will develop alternative mechanisms of trade and mutual settlements that are not controlled by the West, and jointly resist illegitimate unilateral restrictions. And at the same time – build an architecture of equal and indivisible security in Eurasia
The head of state promised to develop humanitarian cooperation between Russia and North Korea, including student exchanges, cultural and educational programs, and tourist trains.
He expressed confidence that through joint efforts the countries will be able to bring bilateral relations to a higher level, contribute to the strengthening of sovereignty and the development of trade and economic relations.
Earlier, Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with the leadership of the Russian Foreign Ministry, proposed creating a new security system in Eurasia without the presence of external forces.
The Russian leader indicated that the future security architecture is open to all countries that are ready to take part in its formation. He said that Europe should be on good terms with Moscow if it wants to remain one of the independent centers of development.
