The amount of grants for students with outstanding abilities has increased to 40 thousand rubles
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree according to which the amount of grants for students who have demonstrated outstanding abilities and have creative achievements in the priorities of scientific and technological development of Russia, which previously amounted to 20 thousand rubles, will double from the new academic year. Document posted on the portal for the official publication of legal acts.
It is noted that presidential grants in an increased amount of 40 thousand rubles will be provided monthly until the end of the established period of study based on the results of individual selection. According to the decree, 200 such grants will be received by students in bachelor’s and specialty programs, and another 150 by students of master’s programs.
On Thursday, Putin, during a visit to the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna near Moscow, launched the NICA accelerator complex, which is a superconducting collider of protons and heavy ions, the construction of which began in 2013 at the Laboratory of High Energy Physics. The Russian collider’s mission, in particular, is to study quark-gluon plasma—a collection of quarks and gluons in thermal equilibrium that is believed to have existed in the first moments after the Big Bang.
